A salt room is a specially constructed room where the ceiling, walls and floor coated with salt are designed to imitate the atmosphere of a natural salt cave. Medicinal microclimate is achieved by blowing dry saturated air rich in the finest rock salt particles using a halogenerator medical device. The halogenerator provides a specific concentration (1 to 16 mg / m3) of dry saline aerosol (salt particles from 1 to 5 μm) under controlled temperature conditions (18 to 25 ° C) and relative air humidity (40 to 60%). The aerosol next to sodium chloride contains iron, calcium, magnesium, copper, zinc, lithium, selenium minerals that participate in numerous physiological processes in the organism. The microclimate of the salt room is hypoallergenic and aseptic (less than 200 saprophytes / m3 of air) with a beneficial effect on human health.
Crystals of salt improve air quality as they produce negative ions that have beneficial biological effects on the defense system and the metabolism of the organism, i.e. on the breathing and cardiovascular system of a person. Negative ions increase oxygenation and serotonin levels in the brain, leading to increased mental energy, with reduced apathy and depression, emotional instability, nervousness, and stress. Their optimal number neutralizes many of the allergens in the air with the reduction of microbial virulence. Negative ions also flare up the frequency of allergic and asymptotic attacks with the alleviation of symptoms during the same. Positive ions have a negative biological effect, dominate when air pollution is increased (in large cities, in indoor and smoky rooms), and positive ions are also created by electronic household appliances. The organism takes ions over the skin and respiratory organs. Symptoms of large and prolonged concentration of positive ions, that is, the lack of negatively charged ions can be: mood, headache, general maladies, poor concentration, insomnia, nervousness, immunodeficiency, and sometimes respiratory disturbances and the onset of cardiac problems.
Salt therapy is clinically proven as a basic or auxiliary therapy in upper and lower respiratory tract diseases, skin diseases, but also other health disorders. Halotherapy is a non-medicamentous and non-invasive method of treatment that does not confuse classical medication therapy, but in most cases it significantly reduces and shortens the recovery time, and leads to an improvement in the psycho-physical condition and the immune system of a person.
Salt therapy (halotherapy) uses the therapeutic effects of speleotherapy (from the Latin word “spelenca” – cave) of one of the oldest forms of air therapy based on the stay of patients in salt mines or caves due to the medicinal effect of their microclimate on human health. In 1843, Polish physician Felix Bochkovsky first pointed to the specific therapeutic effects of stone salt on patients who stayed in salt mines Solotvino in present-day Ukraine, after which the use of salt mines for therapeutic purposes began in many countries of Europe.
